Southern Intercounties Match Report
Unable to quite match the Overall Team
performances from last year there were still some great performances and
lots of pbs at the Southern Intercounties at Horspath, Oxford on Sunday
10th September. No mean feat at the end of a long Season.
A combination of some bad luck on the day and
struggling to fill some of the events, notably Middle Distance where we
are normally strong, affected us I think. The match also clashed with
the Kent Relay champs.
Our U15 Boys were 3rd (unofficial) and our U15
Girls were 5th in their categories. Both teams were 2nd last year.
In the U15Gs there was a double win for Emily
Cadman (Cambridge Harriers) winning the 100m in a CBP of 12.05 and then
coming back to win the 200m. There were wins also for Elsa Pawson (TAC)
in the Pole Vault and Emily Adese (Blackheath and Bromley ) in the Shot.
In the U15B Hans Nmaju (Central Park) won his 80m Hurdles.
In the U17s, our Women were 7th and our Men were
4th overall. In 2022 our U17M won and our U17W were 3rd. On the plus
side there was an emphatic win for Rayhan Mourtada (Blackheath and
Bromley) who won his 100m by over a second and David Ola (Dartford
Grammar) won his Triple Jump in a CBP of 13m 87cm. In the U17W, a win
for Oluwadamitan Showemimo in the 100m
Well done to all Athletes, particularly those that
stepped up to fill drop outs leading up to the event and thanks to
Coaches and Parents involved.
