The 10K Championships were held in conjunction with the Les Golding 10K, promoted by Invicta East Kent AC on 12th June along the seafront at Herne Bay.  A stiff sea breeze kept the heat off the runners, but many were caught out by a steep climb back up the cliff in the final kilometre.

Aboura Mahieddine took his first County road championship ahead of fellow countryman Zakaria Boukelia.  Andrea Green made up for missing out on the 10 mile championships in January, by taking the gold ahead of Clare Colmer.

This completed the fourth race of the Kent Grand Prix Series.  Maidstone Harriers currently hold a clear lead in the men's team competition, although Invicta made up some ground at Herne Bay.  The strong showing of the Canterbury Harriers ladies in the last two races has put them on top of the table, displacing Dartford Road Runners.

The next race in the Grand Prix series is the Dartford Half Marathon on 17th July - also the Kent Half Marathon Championships.
